Details

The Wasp Air is a shorter version of the Wasp helmet designed to meet the needs of triathlon, track- and TT riders. Everything about the helmet is shaped around the rider’s position and finding the maximum aerodynamic gains. The aerodynamic performance of the Wasp Air is the result of extensive wind tunnels research, scientific insight in aerodynamics and the use of mathematical models that allow Lazer to compute and optimize the shape of the helmet in the virtual environment. The integrated lens is an integral part of the helmet and can be moved forward so that air can flow into the helmet when needed. This creates an airflow through the helmet with air passing over the rider’s head and out the two tail vents. A trip wire on the top of the surface of the Wasp creates micro vortices to assure for a smooth airflow over the tail of the helmet. The Lazer advanced Turnfit® retention system makes sure the helmet is snug and comfortable on the head.

The Lazer Inclination Sensor is the ultimate training tool to make you faster. It will keep you in your most aerodynamic position so you can cheat the wind and be as fast as you can be. It's like having a personal trainer in your helmet, encouraging you to keep performing at your top level. By delivering you real-time feedback, it alerts you when you deviate from your optimal position and helps you find that sweet spot again. The Lazer Inclination Sensor is a simple and easy to use tool that will turn you into a faster rider.

WHY?

Amateur riders, weekend warriors, seasoned professionals…everybody is affected by fatigue during a ride, and the change in body posture it brings along with it. During a time trial or triathlon bike leg, this results is a less aerodynamic position on the bike and thus a slower ride. But how do you notice this change in body posture? Well, you couldn't up to now. But that has all changed with the arrival of the Lazer Inclination Sensor.

WHAT?

The Lazer Inclination Sensor is a body posture monitor that allows you to track your aerodynamic cycling posture in real time. The monitor tracks your head and helmet position and provides you with tactile or acoustic feedback when you are out of your optimal aerodynamic position.

Before using the monitor it should be calibrated towards your optimal aerodynamic cycling position. For the best result, the calibration should take place in a wind tunnel with the help of aerodynamic experts. But it works just as well when you visit a training center or shop with experienced professionals to help you find that ideal aero position.

The monitor aims at making you aware of your head position while riding, and guiding you towards that sweet spot where you cheat the wind as best as possible.

The ATS is a new interpretation of the classic Turnfit system. We have combined the traditional Turnfit dial system with the Rollsys head basket to create an even more effective retention system. A dial at the back of the helmet now controls a basket that grips a large part of back of the head. A quick turn of the ATS dial makes sure the basket grips the back of the head for a snug, yet comfortable fit that keeps the helmet firmly in place.

The adjustable head basket allows the back part of the rollsys system (that grips the back of the head) to move up and down depending on the riders preference. This way the Rollsys system can be adjusted even more to individual rider needs and can create even more comfort.

Optimal aerodynamics while riding with head down.

Going fast is all about power, technique, and the perfect riding position. Keeping your posture small and your head down are key to having a good aerodynamic position on the bike. Head-down aerodynamics means the helmet will actually improve its performance when your head is down and your riding position is changed to a more aero style.

All helmets are designed to be safe, but Lazer helmets are also designed to be fast. That is why our helmets are tested in wind tunnel facilities. They go through a varienty of tests to measure the aerodynamic performance and improve it where possible.

Lazer helmets are tested in a specifically designed vent tunnel. This test measures the amount of air that is flowing over the head and in which specifc areas. That way we can effectively measure the ventilation a helmet offers. Based on this testing, we adjust the vent position and size of the vents to make sure we create products with good ventilation to make sure you can perform at top level.
